EXCURSION
1. City Tour and National Museum: 3 hours
Free Africa
Safaris offers a very nice and enjoyable exploration of the Kenyan city and also
visiting the National Museum, which includes the snake park just a kilometer from the city center.
2. Orphanage & Nairobi Safari Walk 3 hours
- Free Africa
Safaris avails the opportunity to visit the animal orphanage, which is situated
right at the main entrance of the Nairobi National Park, which is also at the
Kenya Wildlife head quarters.
- The orphanage
center cares for the young and the wounded animals, which are found and rescued
from different parks across the country. The animals are later released to the
wilderness.
- Alternatively, the visit to the Nairobi Arboretum is encouraged. A very nice and
cool garden where one can acquire knowledge on East African trees, flowers and
shrubs.
3. Nairobi National Park: 4 hours.
- The Nairobi
National Park sits on 11,721 ha of land and at the Southern Part of the City,
7km away.
- It’s a
rolling grassland which borders the forest-fringed Athi River believed to be the
home of Hippos and crocodiles.
- The heavily
protected black rhinos and other animals like zebras, giraffes, thomson’s and
grants gazelles roam the park.
- Many lions
and fewer leopards and cheetahs are sometimes seen in the park.
4. David Sheldricks, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen (5 hours)
- We also offer
visits to David Sheldricks a non-profiable project that cares for young and
wounded elephants and rhinocerous which are found and rescued from all parks
across the country. It takes an hour listening and having a nice lecture from
guides while watching the animals.
5. Carnivore Experience for Lunch or Dinner.
- There are a
variety of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine. Free Africa Safaris
recommend a lunch or dinner at the carnivore, which is famous for its succulent
steaks and barbecue, dishes including game meat and is therefore dubbed the meat
eater’s paradise. It also offers a vegetarian menu, the meal is an excellent
compliment to a holiday. The costs include transfers to and from Nairobi City
Centre.
6. Bomas of Kenya (3 Hours)
A ‘Boma” is a homestead and
just a few kilometers from Nairobi we have the Bomas of Kenya where the
day-to-day lives of the 42 different ethnic groups in Kenya are depicted
through traditional dancing, music. Song and folklore. These plus an acrobatic
show are performed in a splendid arena.
7. Lake Nakuru Bird Sanctuary & L. Naivasha
- Daily at
07:00hrs
- Drive through
the escarpment wall into the Great Rift Valley. L. Nakuru is home of millions of
pink flamingoes, the greater and lesser flamingoes.
- A rhino
sanctuary has also been established in the park. Water-bucks, buffalos and other
wildlife can be found except the elephants. After lunch you return via Lake
Naivasha for tea arriving in the evening.
8. Amboseli Overnight Daily 07:00hrs
Day 1: Pick up
from Nairobi Hotel/Airport and depart for Amboseli National Park arriving in
time for lunch. Evening game drive at 15:30hrs. Dinner and overnight at the
lodge/camp site.
Day 2: At
06:00hrs after having coffee or tea, proceed for an early morning game drive for
2½ hrs and return to the lodge/camp for breakfast.
After
breakfast depart for Nairobi with lunch enroute. Arrive Nairobi early evening.
N.B.
Amboseli is well known for the large herds of elephants and hippos which can be
seen bathing in the swamp grounds whose water source is Mt. Kilimanjaro.
9. Other Long Safaris Include: -

visit for 1½ days driving towards northern direction with a wonderful view of
Mt. Kenya, the second highest peak in Africa with 5,199m high.
- Maasai Mara
Overnight driving through the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and the nice
rolling plains of short acacia bushes. |
